The difference between mopa and fiber laser marking machine

The difference between mopa and fiber laser marking machine

We briefly introduced the classification of lasers based on wavelength differences, but many customers have recently consulted MOPA lasers. So today I will explain briefly what is a MOPA laser machine.

Depending on the wavelength of the laser, the MOPA laser is a fiber laser because its wavelength is 1064 nm. So why do we have to further subdivide this attribution? The pulse width and pulse frequency of the two machines are really different. Because the proofing effect and the application range are really different. This is a short description:

First of all, from the machine proofing effect and scope of application.

MOPA laser machines are suitable for the fine processing of metal and non-metallic materials. Suitable materials include metal (including rare metals), ABS, PVC, PES, nylon, electroplating materials, coatings, spray materials, plastics, rubber, epoxy and other materials.

Note the term “fine mark”, which we call marks for both metallic and non-metallic hard plastics. For example, alumina and galvanized metal fiber machines are generally difficult to exert black effect, but MOPA laser machine can easily achieve black effect; also like many friends to consult the phone cover requirements can reach the back cover effect of Apple mobile phone, so it can also The laser machine that makes the MOPA laser machine is normal, the effect is not very good, it will be a rough edge, but the MOPA machine does not need to worry about this problem. For example, the surface coated silicone mark, Nokia phone case, we should also be familiar with the use of MOPA laser machine.

Second, the pulse width and pulse frequency are explained from the machine.

Here is a brief description of the parameters, concepts, pulse width and pulse frequency of the two machines. The pulse width short pulse refers to the single pulse duration, so it is the time measurement unit, millisecond, microsecond (MS) (US), NS (NS), (PS), femtosecond picosecond (FS) and others. The smaller the amplitude, the shorter the duration of the laser action. The pulse frequency is equal to the number of pulses repeated in one second. The unit is Hertz (Hz)

.
Mopa laser machine, M1 pulse width 6-200ns, M6 pulse width 2-200ns. The ordinary pulse width laser machine is 118-126 ns. It can be seen that the range of the pulsed MOPA laser machine can be more widely adjusted to understand why some products are not ordinary fiber effects, but the MOPA laser machine can do it. The Mopa laser has a pulse frequency of 45 Khz and an average of 20-80 Khz. For ordinary fiber optic machines, the pulse frequency adjustment range is large, and the fine requirements for marking are not high.
I believe that after comparing the marking effect, pulse width and frequency, we have a better understanding of the MOPA laser machine. It is not like many English letters. In fact, these two devices are determined by the laser. Laser manufacturers generally have MOPA lasers, probably because of the different costs of the lasers, so the cost of the whole machine is also different.
