What is CO2 laser and how does it work?–Clara
Co2 laser application and more information
Recently, more and more clients are looking for Co2 laser marking and cutting machine. Co2 laser still takes a very important part in Industrial laser machinery, especially those who are doing marking and engraving service, DIY gift shops and business starter.
CO2 laser is one of the oldest gas lasers developed by Kumar Patel at Bell Labs in 1964, but there still are a large number of applications today.
Continuous-mode carbon dioxide lasers have great power and are easily accessible. They are also very effective for nearly all non-metal materials; the pumping power ratio (the excitation power) vs. output power reaches 20%. CO2 lasers emit in IR, their main wavelength range is between 9.4 and 10.6 μm (microns). Here is the simple picture of it, you can have a preliminary knowledge about how it works.
Given the high combined power at a reasonable cost, CO2 lasers are commonly used in industry for marking and cutting. Especially for some non-metal materials, such as leather, rubber, paper, acrylic, plywood, MDF etc. Here we would like to share some samples with you:
