Spatter-free welding, we are serious!

In recent years, fiber lasers have been more and more widely used in the field of metal welding and cutting. However, in some welding applications, there are still unsatisfactory effects, for example, splashes are easy to occur during welding …

01, What effect does splashing have?

After the laser welding is completed, so there are many metal particles on the surface of the material or workpiece, which are attached to the surface of the material or workpiece. This is the particulate matter generated by the splash. These particles not only easily scratch the base material, pollute the protective glasses of the welding helmet, but also contaminate the filter and frosted glass of the camera of the equipment, resulting in rework of components, damage to components, and even more serious downtime.

In particular, the automotive industry requires a large amount of welding of specific materials such as galvanized steel, copper and aluminum. In the past, the way to eliminate splashes was to sacrifice the inherent advantages of fiber lasers, so which greatly reduced processing capacity and efficiency.

Until its appearance …

02, Small splash welding tool

YLS-6000 / 9000-AMB Beam Mode Tunable Fiber Laser

AMB laser welding with low spatter

AMB can produce a larger and more stable keyhole, so making it easier for metal vapors to escape; the ring beam minimizes the kinetic energy of the vapors that escape, thereby minimizing splashing.

On the other hand, AMB can make the molten pool more stable, and no further melting occurs after the formation of a more stable keyhole. The ring beam softens the material and deflects towards the bottom of the bath, significantly reducing splashing.

03, Industry application cases

Minimum spatter welding of copper

Ordinary high spatter welding AMB less spatter welding

Process: 3 mm overlap weld

Material: 0.2mm nickel-plated copper + 0.2mm nickel-plated copper + 2.0mm copper

Welding speed = 120 mm / s

Minimum spatter welding of aluminum

So ordinary high spatter welding AMB less spatter welding

3 mm overlap weld

So material: 0.2mm aluminum + 0.2mm aluminum + 2.0mm nickel-plated copper

Welding speed = 45 mm / s

Beam mode adjustable for minimal splash

Benefiting automakers a lot

Advantages for traditional car manufacturing

Improve welding speed of auto parts

So reduced porosity and zero-gap welding of galvanized steel

Eliminate controlled gaps that may add extra cost

Improve the post-weld mechanical properties of the blank material

Low spatter reduces surface roughness and improves formability

Spatter-free welding, we are serious!

Battery copper and aluminum welding

So advantages for electric vehicle manufacturing

For welding copper and aluminum cells

Improve welding speed and welding stability

Improve welding aesthetics and air tightness of aluminum battery case

High-speed welding of deep-drawn thin-walled lithium battery cases

Non-spatter welding of hot-dipped aluminum steel plate

Mainly used in automotive parts, so thermal equipment, building materials, etc. Welding beauty is enhanced, 12m / min is completely penetrated and the weld has no pores.
